Excel is a very good tool, and many successful sellers started with it. If you have 20 orders a day, a well-made sheet can work. The trouble starts when orders, marketplaces and reports grow. This is an honest look at what changes.
| Task | In Excel | In Seller Book |
|---|---|---|
| Profit per SKU | You build lookups across several reports, and fix them whenever a marketplace changes its file format. | Upload the reports. Profit per SKU, marketplace and month appears. |
| Short and missing payments | Match thousands of orders by hand. Easy to miss. | Delivered-but-unpaid and short-paid orders are listed with amounts. |
| Returns not received | Needs a separate sheet and discipline to scan every parcel. | Scan log is compared with the marketplace list automatically. |
| GST summary | Pivot tables by state and rate, redone every month. | State-wise and rate-wise summary with a download for your CA. |
| Labels | Not possible. | Crop, sort and print marketplace labels. |
| Several staff | One file, version problems, everyone sees everything. | Separate logins and limited access per person. |
| Asking questions | Write formulas. | Ask in plain words, in English, Hindi or Gujarati, and get the answer with the table. |
If two or three of these are true, a tool made for marketplace sellers will probably pay for itself in the first month, from the losses you stop and the payments you recover. You do not have to throw away your sheets: upload the same reports you already download, and compare the results with your own numbers.
Upload your marketplace reports once. Seller Book shows your real profit per SKU, short payments and returns that never reached you.
